So last night was my seven miles with 6*100 metre strides and i mentioned in my previous post how i am becoming accustom to these speed sessions and this was very evident last night as i was able to rattle through all 6 sessions without too much of a break in between each one. This is a great sign of my improved fitness levels, which is a great shame as soon i will be on holiday and missing two weeks of training…..
To re-cap these were the routes i used :
The seven mile run :
The strides :
As well as the strides went, the seven miles didn’t. I set off with my left knee feeling stiff, this moved onto my left shin feeling like it was on the verge of getting a shin splint injury and finally part of my left quad, which thanks to Google i know is called the “Vastus Lateralis”, felt sore. This resulted in the seven mile run taking over an hour to complete but i feel ok today. I am partly wondering are my trainers due a change ? . I will have to total up my miles and have a think.
So tonight, was supposed to be my 11 mile run with 7@HM pace, however my partner has her first day off in 4 , so Ive moved my 5 mile recovery run to tonight to keep the peace. The plus point of this, is i can take Saturday, which is the day before my charity run with Richard Whitehead, as a rest day.
In other news you can now win a pair of trainers if you take part in the ‘Magic Mile’ :

Its very much appreciated, but please people send more spare change my way, as now we must help Richard meet his target :
September 1st i will be joining Paralympic gold medalist Richard Whitehead as he runs the full length Britain. He will be running through Preston on that day and I am planning on joining him for 20 miles or so as a local runner. So if you have a spare Dollar / Pound or Euro please chuck it this way
