So last night was my 5 mile recovery run, which i slightly over did and rather than getting around at 8.20 pace, i found myself returning home in around 39mins , which worked out at just under 8 mins per mile. So i felt a tad stiff this morning, but i guess its better than if it had gone wrong!!
Run wise there were no issues and twinges i felt on my previous run did not come back to haunt me.
So im back out running tonight, this time 11 miles with 7 miles at half marathon pace, so its going to be a hard work out. Route wise this is what ive gone for :
And as you can see its a fairly straight forward, but demanding, so it should be a good workout. I am thinking of aiming to complete the first 4 in 8.20 pace so around 33 mins and the next 7 at 07:15 pace, which equals around 50 minutes. It will be hard going, im sure of it, but it’s always enjoyable to get to pick the pace up.
In other news, the Freckleton Half Marathon 2014 entries are open and this is a race everyone should experience, its a hidden gem, chip timed, a decent size crowd and plenty of things going on at the start and finish.
